Community Outreach

Each week members of Shelbyville First Baptist Church reach out to our community in a variety of ways.  You will find us at the local nursing homes, food kitchens, hospitals, and schools to mention a few.  We believe that every single Christian should be serving in some way.  God shapes every believer with talents and spiritual abilities that can be used to bring Him glory.  We want to help you find your place in God’s design–community outreach opportunities are available for you.

One of the easiest ways to begin is to join us for Next Level on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m.  Several teams go out into the community to serve and classes are taught that can help you discover a place of service that best fits you.

Summer – 2011

This summer we partnered with the Kentucky Baptist Convention Collegiate Department to host a group of students called The Acts 1:8 East Team. They lived in our building for several weeks and helped with several missions endeavors.  The summer ended with a mission trip to Ecuador, led by our student pastor, Andy McDonald.

Here’s a video that tells about their summer with us….
