First Family
- Deacon of the Week - Jonathan Cook 9/6 - 9/12 followed by Glenn Ellis 9/13 - 9/19.
- School Prayer Cards - Find your school prayer cards at all the church entrances.
- MidWeek - The fellowship meal will begin at 5:00. Prices have been adjusted a bit this semester. Adult meals will be $7, children's meals will be $3, with the maximum family meal being $25. Pastor Dan will resume his study on Genesis. The ladies plan to have a JOYful gathering each week. Our students will grow together while strengthening their relationship with Christ. Our kids will have fun while learning Bible truths, Bible skills and memorizations, and learn about missions all over the world. Also during this time, our choir will resume practice. The menu will be Meatloaf or Fried Chicken, Iceberg salad, Yukon mashed potatoes, Country-style green beans, Biscuits, and assorted desserts. Children may choose from chicken nuggets or a half-portion of the adult entree.
- Kentucky Baptist Disaster Relief 9/11 - 9/12 - Volunteer Training: September 12, 2026 (typically around 7:30 a.m. or 8:30 a.m. to late afternoon). Register here.
- Community Day of Prayer 9/15 at 6:30 p.m. - Stargazer Plaza, 612 Main Street in Shelbyville ... ONE ACCORD Community-Wide Prayer gathering for Shelby County. Local pastors and ministry leaders from around the county will join with fellow believers from churches in Shelby County for ONE ACCORD Community-Wide Prayer.
- Friends Together Day Trip to Bernheim Forest 9/17 - We will leave the church at around 9:30 a.m. and return around 3:00 p.m. A chicken salad box lunch will be prepared for us at Isaac's Cafe at the visitor center. After lunch, we will drive around the park and see some of the beautiful sites. The deadline to register is Monday, 9/14/26 at 5:00 p.m. The cost for the trip, including lunch, is $10. Register here and specify if you plan to ride the van or drive yourself.
- NCBN Semi-Annual Meeting, 9/27, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. - The meeting will be held at LaGrange Baptist Church.
- Christmas Backpacks - Pack a backpack. Change a child's Christmas. Fill a Christmas backpack for a Kentucky child in need with items such as school supplies, clothing and hygiene items, and toys. The best part is every backpack includes a clear presentation of the gospel and serves as a reminder that someone cares about them and God loves them. Please pray on how you can contribute, whether by packing a backpack or donating so that our students can pack a bag for your. Empty backpacks are available at the church office. - Operation Christmas Child Build-a-Shoebox - Help us meet our goal of 250 shoeboxes to be completed by November 16. You can pack your own box or it is more economical to build a shoebox online. You can also purchase a completed shoebox at the same cost and we will build it for you. Each box is $25 including postage. Simply drop a check payable to SFBC in the offering plate or at the church office and signify for OCC. If you'd like to build a shoebox online, just click here.
- New Church Window Stickers Available - Every stoplight can be an invitation. Available in the church office.
- Come Make a Difference in Kids Lives - Our Worship Care & The Rock children's ministry is looking for caring, enthusiastic volunteers to help minister to children during the worship service. It's more than childcare—it's an opportunity to show the love of Jesus, build relationships with families, and invest in the next generation. We'd love to have you join our team! Contact the church office to learn more and begin the process of serving in this rewarding ministry.

Children's Ministry
- American Heritage Girls - AHG is a Christ-centered, character and leadership development program for young girls ages 5 - 18 years. AHG meetings are led by Sitha Powell and Sam Henderson. Check the events page for meeting dates, times, and locations.
Student Ministry

Bible Fellowship, Sundays at 9:30 - Come be a part of our Middle School or High School Bible Fellowship class where we do a deep dive into the Bible to learn how to apply God's word to our lives.
Men's Ministry
- Men’s Bible Study - Saturdays at 8 a.m. - Mike Fackler leads the foretelling book of Revelation in the Fellowship Hall. We hope you come and join us.
- Men’s Morning Bible Study - Tuesdays at 8 a.m. at Cracker Barrel - This dedicated Men’s Bible study group continues their breakfast meetings. Guests are welcome!
Women's Ministry
- Progressive Dinner - Sunday, September 20, 4:30 p.m. - We will meet at the church at 4:30 p.m. and then travel to several houses for appetizers, main entree, and dessert. Please register here and let us know when registering if you have any food allergies. The cost for this event is $10.
- Bible Study Fellowship - Thursdays at 9:30 - BSF is an international organization for women with participants from all ages from all around the world. The new study will be Romans: From Guilt to Grace. The leader is Laura Lyon. Call the church office if you would like to know more about BSF or go to bsfinternational.org.
Worship Ministry
- Worship Choir - "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord!" We invite you to join us as we lift our voices in song on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. in the Choir Suite. If you would like to be a part of our praise team, please call Pastor Martin, 502-633-1317.

Missions/Ministry
- Mary Sampson WMU - Next Meeting is Tuesday, October 6 at 10:00 a.m. - Our Mary Sampson WMU meets the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am in the Barrett Bible Fellowship classroom. Come be a part of learning about missions and how missions impacts so many across the globe.
- The Sending Table Next Event will be September 24 at 6:15 p.m. - The Sending Table is a group at Shelbyville FBC led by Charity Taylor. This group is learning about how Southern Baptist Missions are impacting the Kingdom and is experiencing missions as a church through giving, praying, and going. You are welcome to join us for our next meeting in the Fellowship Hall.
- Blessing Box Ministry - CURRENT NEEDS - SOUP, GRANOLA BARS, PEANUT BUTTER CRACKERS - We have two Blessing Boxes. One is for food items and the other for items such as toiletries, blankets, jackets, hats and gloves. You may bring your contributions and place them in the wheelbarrow located at the office entrance. (If you drop off your contributions anywhere else we are unable to get a count of them.) Thank you for your support of this invaluable ministry!

In Armenia, IMB partners have formed a new association of churches focused on reaching Armenia and the nations. Surrounded by Muslim countries, these partners are burdened to see the gospel go beyond their borders. Pray for boldness, wisdom, and a fruitful harvest.
